Bed Diary

A Cozy Corner of My Bed

For “Warmth”, I used soft yellow lighting to create a cozy night-lamp feel, casting light on plushies to make them seem alive and waiting. The blanket’s natural folds add softness and a lived-in touch, with warm tones blending harmoniously.

Inspired by In the Mood for Love, I framed the shot through a bed curtain for an observer’s perspective—like peeking into a warm, fairy-tale bed.

Post-processing added a grainy, dreamy filter for a vintage CCD film vibe, enhancing the everyday warmth.

Embraced by My Blanket

For “Comfort” , I captured the feeling of being wrapped in a blanket, like an embrace that heals me. I used natural daylight with top-down lighting to mimic sunlight, giving my hair a soft orange glow.

Inspired by Pedro Almodóvar’s bold color use, I added bright pinks and vibrant oranges—colorful plushies and vivid socks—to energize the scene. The top-down shot makes me look smaller, emphasizing the cozy, enveloped feeling.

Playing with My Pets in Bed

For “Freedom”, I captured carefree moments with my cats and dogs in bed, bathed in bright daylight. I used focused lighting on my face and my orange pets to emphasize our playful interaction.

The light makes their fur look soft and vibrant, while a bright, anime-like blue sky in the background adds a joyful touch. The slightly high camera angle centers me, highlighting the simple happiness of everyday life with my pets.

My Mini Cinema in Bed

At night, I captured the thrill of watching horror movies in bed, feeling scared yet safe under my blanket. I photographed myself peeking at the screen, with its glow lighting up my face, while my enlarged shadow added mystery.

The deep blue bed curtain blends with the dark night, creating an eerie vibe. I shot it from an observer’s perspective to emphasize my fear.

Sweet Dreams

For the final theme, “Dreamland”, I wanted to capture the peace of a good dream. Inspired by Sleeping Beauty, I used soft white light on my face to create a calm, tranquil mood.

I framed the shot straight-on, focusing on my upper body for storytelling. In post-processing, I added a circular vignette for a cinematic effect and a subtle blur to give a dreamy, ethereal feel, capturing the essence of drifting into a beautiful dream.
